The first stage of learning is Recognition ? No one puts forth the effort to learn unless they know they have a need to do so.  In other words, knowing what you don’t know is important for recognizing the need to learn new things.  When you identify the value the new information and processes will bring to you, and you are prepared to make the necessary commitment to gain that knowledge, you are then ready to learn new things.  In essence, you need to recognize that what you are doing can be improved upon.

The second stage of learning is Reproduction ? When you accept that what is being taught is something of value to you, then you must learn how to duplicate what you are seeing and hearing. The third stage of learning is Mastery ? When you have developed the ability to duplicate and use the knowledge and processes you are being taught, they will become a natural part of your own skill set and will then be second nature to you.  When this happens, you will not have to work at it, you will have Mastered the information and processes and what you have learned will have effectively become a part of your own knowledge.
