6 of the 7 family members of the Stay Family were taken from our community in a horrific and violent tragedy on July 9th, 2014.

Stephen & Katie Stay along with 4 of their 5 children were lost in a horrible domestic violence event that left only their 15 year old daughter (Cassidy Stay) the sole survivor of her family. Cassidy is expected to make a full recovery and has been released from the hospital.

Cassidy not only survived the incident, but heroically after the incident was able to call 911, then give details to 1st reponders that lead to saving the lives of her grandparents and police capturing the suspect minutes later.

Employee's Harris County Water Control & Improvement District (Harris County WCID110) Parks & Recreation along with First Responders and many of our community have expressed a concern for Cassidy and the family. The family will have huge funeral expenses, medical expenses and ongoing care expenses for Cassidy (although we do not yet have all the details due to the ongoing investigation)
