First. Adding I really enjoy this site and the potential it has to offer.
Second and mostly what my blog is about, ties and stuffy tie downs.
I have seen a lot of suites and ties, stuffy old sales ideas. Times have changed, and to go with, the Consumers mind set.
I think I am going to start a sales seminar on being casual. I would all most bet, that the sales persons leaving the seminar would out sell, out do, and out service each and every customer 2 to 1, from the normal sales person learning, from some of these over tight, stuffed, worked out scripts, and puffed old sales techs.
Heres the meat,,if we treat our customers not as customers, units, nor our next commision bonus bracket. We see them as people, getting what they need and or want, we get what we need and or want.
thanks

I do agree with you on one thing, if you aren’t keeping your sales approach fresh and genuine to your style, then you are doing yourself and your potential customers a great disservice. Scripts can be a great starting point but the bottom line is you have customize the content to fit your methodology.
As for the ties..... I disagree
As a sales professional I feel that the mindset of a sales person starts with their appearance, a casually dressed sales team will approach the sale casually.
In contrasted when you put on a crisp shirt and tie, pressed slacks, with polished shoe's, you are presenting the product of you as a true professional... You will approach your day with an entirely different attitude!! I not only believe this I know this, I feel the difference in my approach my confidence and the level of respect I receive from my potential customers.
I call on many different dealerships and the quality of the dealership is determined by the appearance of their sales staff, you can feel the difference in the energy level the minute you walk in the door...
I can understand a person not wanting to dawn the shirt and tie everyday… But the payoff is well worth the time and effort…. Good Selling!!!!
