Today, I asked Buttercup what’s for dinner; her reply, WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME? Hmmm!

So what is this writing about? The Ladies. Earlier this week I asked dealerElite to highlight photos of lady members since they are an integral part of the auto industry. To my surprise dealerElite has been highlighting the ladies all week. And that is a good thing.

For thirty-two years I worked in Dealerland as a controller. As such, I have been associated with many, many ladies throughout my career. During those years the one characteristic that stood out was the energy level of the ladies both in their personal life as well as in Dealerland. They don’t need a five hour energy drink to keep them going. It comes naturally.

How do I know?

It’s Saturday and the work week is over; time for two days of rest and relaxation and time with the family. Ya think? Nah! It’s time to wash the clothes, pull out the vacuum, the Pledge, the Windex, the mop, etc. And of course drop junior off at soccer practice and while out, stop at the grocery store to replenish the cupboards and stop at the bank and go back and pick up junior when practice is over and while out stop at Target and pick up a pair of jeans for junior. And, And, And, And.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch Pa is ready to do his Saturday routine. Gas-up the John Deere riding lawn mower, grab an iced tea, put it in the cup holder, start the engine, step on the accelerator, set the cruise control and tool around the yard for a couple of hours catching some rays. Of course after being in the sun for a few hours the energy level may be low. The sun can do that. To recharge, Pa might need to relax in the hammock for an hour or two.

Sunday is giving thanks and family day. Off to church and brunch afterward. Take junior to his soccer game. The bushes need trimming and weeds need to be pulled. Off she goes to prune and pull. Dinner needs to be made. Junioress needs help with her homework. Ironing needs to be done. Junioress’ hormones are acting up; time for a Mom talk. Prepare for Monday nights’ PTA meeting. And, And, And, And.

Meanwhile Pa is in his favorite chair watching the “game” devouring a bowl of popcorn compliments of Ma.

The guys need a Honey Do List – The gals, they just do.

So, Ladies – What’s for dinner?
