EMPLOYMENT AD FOR CAR DEALERS

Wanted unambitious person sales position. Low Pay - Long Hours - Must Work Nights and Weekends - AND must be able to withstand consumer abuse and ridicule. You must be educated, and clean cut, well dressed with no drugs or bad habits. People with families preferred.

MAN, WHO WOULDN'T APPLY FOR THAT JOB?_ EVERYBODY!

"Dumbing Down the Car Business" and they wonder why we have 72% turn-over?

I Hate the Trend in the Car Business to cut compensation to match lower grosses and profits. That is why the quality of the business will continue to Deteriorate. As the best quality experienced people leave the business, customers complain they are Not getting competent quality services from people that know what they're doing. Excuse me, when you Pay Peanuts, you get Monkeys.

Monkeys is right !

Dealers are ADVERTISING for know-nothing monkeys ! To underscore Jim's point ;

I saw this one today. If  someone was trained by Ford or Lexus - Ziegler or other trainers - AutoNation or Carmax  --- it is a considered a negative.---- they prefer monkeys.

Here's an example from Craigs today : "ALL YOUR TRAINING IS PROVIDED! ...NO EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED OR WANTED! - WE WILL TRAIN YOU "OUR" WAY!"

Wow. I'm new to the vehicle sales industry, and I can see where the huge differences between pay scales in Powersports, and automotive.

After almost 2 years in automotive, wish I would have stayed in powersports. More money, a little more physical work but oh well. But I didn't have a draw. I made my commission, and made $400 a week, THAT I GOT TO KEEP. There is less profit to be made front and back in powersports, yet they pay more. Tells ya where priorities are. Car dealers will hire anyone who can/can't sell. In the powersports industry, your knowledge and PURE LOVE of the industry in desired, and appreciated, not only in a monetary way though. I don't see this where I am currently. It's do this, make me this much money or get out. oh, you better train yourself and pay for it yourself as well. Hmmm...did I make the wrong choice?

Now there are some idiots trying to do away with the F&I Departments. They're using the same old tired "Customer Experience" smokescreen to say it's what the consumers want when It's really all about cutting compensation....

I've had dealers offer a monthly retainer for me to hire.  They told me that no matter what kind of people I hired and trained, they would chew them up and spit them out.  That dealer was surprised that I turned down the deal.  Dawg, you're on the money.  The old expression, "You get what you pay for," has never been more true that in today's showrooms.

Hey Jim, still at it! Never has so much been said in such a short piece. As usual, great job. Thanks

That's called "hitting the nail on the head".  No need to sugarcoat it!  Give me your life and your family's lives and I'll make sure you get $100 a week (with a minimum wage draw) and a minimum of $25 per mini deal.  BTW, be prepared for a lot of mini deals because we're super competitive.  But your potential is 6 figures if you can train yourself better than we can be bothered to train you.  Opportunity of a lifetime!
