We live in a business world of information overload. It is a very noisy world that points to "silver bullets" and "shiny objects" that promise to help us run our business and succeed abundantly.
Now many of these tools or methodologies are indeed extremely helpful to our businesses there is very little talk of how to implement them into our day to day operations fo maximum effectiveness.
The downside to this is many businesses sign up for these "silver bullets and "shiny objects" and then expect to perform at a higher level just by "joining the club".
There is the very little conversation or focus on the most integral part that ties it all together for today's businesses. I speak of the power of process and process implementation. Let's delve into what actually a process is by its definition.
Now that we have covered that important detail, The next topic of discovery is "What elements must a process have to provide the fuel for adoption and success?" Based upon my experience there are 5 elements that must be taken into consideration. The process must be:
So when do we need a process written and implemented? I feel there is only one answer for this.. "If it is worth doing there should be a written process for it:" This is the only way to have complete adoption and understanding of what you are setting out to accomplish as well as achieving the most productivity which leads to synergy and momentum.
For a business to succeed abundantly in today's world, Process is necessary to maximize the effectiveness of people, departments, technology, and marketing. It confounds me that such a simple step as process implementation is so often overlooked as an essential part of a high-performance business culture.
Lastly, I would like to answer the question,
I will give you the definition given to me by Peter F. Drucker who is known as the father of modern management, from the book "The Effective Executive"
Make your business more productive, efficient and effective by starting today to tie all those "silver bullets" and "shiny objects" together with a process for maximum results. It all just starts with a written series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end. It is easier than you think.
