Delia Passi is a nationally recognized and highly regarded businesswoman in marketing and business development and considered a leading authority on selling to women. As President and CEO of Medelia Incorporated, she supports companies in their efforts to gain market share of women consumers and target markets. Medelia Inc. is the recipient of several awards including Best Woman-Owned Business, Best Diversity-Owned Business, a Stevie Awards’ two-time finalist and Ernst & Young’s Best Entrepreneur Nominee.
As an author and compelling speaker, Passi oversees the training of thousands of sales representatives each year on cutting-edge techniques that empower them to more effectively sell to women and couples. Her series of sales training programs are based on over a decade of research and experience in understanding and translating the nuances of how women approach the buying cycle and how they need to be communicated with during that process. Passi is also the author of Winning the Toughest Customer, The Essential Guide to Selling to Women.
Based on the success of her sales training, Passi developed a new training and certification program called WomenCertified®. Launched in the fall of 2007, it has quickly become the fastest-growing certification program in the nation. WomenCertified® has converted Passi’s popular and successful Selling to Women workshop into an interactive, online program for sales and service professionals in 12 industries across the nation.
Recently, Passi partnered with 360 Training to offer WomenCertified® program to all of their clients and partners. In addition, she partnered with Discover Card to have WomenCertified included in 180,000 monthly statements to its business owner clients.
Medelia Inc. has also branched into the entertainment industry, having launched an online artist portfolio platform called IMPnow.com in June 2007. Medelia believes that certain elements have always aided artists along the creative journey: collaboration, guidance, exposure, education, and support. These are the foundations for IMPnow.com, which has a professional, community-based networking backbone and a social networking element. IMPnow.com currently has over 1,000 artist members and is already growing significantly in 2008.
Passi’s considerable knowledge is complimented by her successful track record of proven sales, strategic marketing, powerful branding, and in-depth entrepreneurial experience. Prior to founding Medelia Communications, she was the Group Publisher of Working Woman and Working Mother magazines. She began her career with the Xerox Corporation and quickly rose to the level of one of thecompany’s top producers, becoming known internally as “The Closer.” It was when she made the switch to selling advertising that she recognized how a specialized approach proves so effective when it comes to selling to women, who dominate the publishing environment.
As a consultant to Fortune 500 companies, Passi has experienced great success in forging strategic partnerships with corporations through sophisticated and unique programs that have measurably increased their brand visibility, strengthened product positioning, created greater credibility, and delivered a larger percentage of coveted female customers. Client companies have included major brands such as Washington Mutual, UPS, Xerox, Office Depot, HP, Principal Financial, Conde Naste and UBS.
From 1998-2003, Passi sat on several advisory boards including Women in Communication’s Golf Matrix, Save the Children, NOW, and Boardroom Bound. She recently joined the New World Symphony in Miami as the Branding Committee Co-Chairperson for the Board of Directors.
