Guys, thanks for all your feedback.. as for Craig....Wow Craig where were you 15+ years ago when I needed to learn that line? I guess since I didn't know you, I had to figure it out on my own. BUT, thanks to dealer elite, there are (as you can see) many others who simply didn't think about that line...The way I look at it, is even though it WAS "anti-climactic" for you, if I helped even just ONE person who will now either use it, or pass it along, or both, than I did Dealerelite and my brothers and sisters in the car biz some good! For that opportunity, I have a deep sense of gratitude. So, share your wizdom, and I'll share mine. I'm guessing there's some good that come from us both opening up to each other rather than bashing each other. OR, if you want, we can just wait while the elite grab all our stuff off the internet, and sell it to everyone for $19.95! Up to you!

I was watching, looking for something different. What do I hear? The exact same verbage I used everytime I heard "just looking" in the 25 years it took me to deliver over 7500 cars.
Great tip. As i "grew" inthe business i used to jump back and raising my arms say " Great, How do I look?" then laugh and commence w/ the " Just kidding! So a car?Truck? Van?etc.
Also, being new and letting them know, in a conspiritorial mock-whisper, "good, I'm brand new so i"ll look with ya!" Have fun smile and let some personality out!!! Best of luck.
Great advice for the green peas as many just walk away and leave the potential customer standing there. My recommendation in addition to Kevin's great video is to be polite and inviting by introducing yourself while asking for their name as well. A quick meet and greet always helps build trust and comfort, then attempt to open them up by asking "What brought you in to our dealership today?". If they are in for service, you may want to explore a possible trade-in scenario, such as how do you currently like your vehicle, etc? Your goal in the sales process that Kevin mentions is to get to the next step by asking qualifying questions to help the customer buy the right car.
