I think some people are missing what some protesters are saying about the 1% people they are talking about. I read where Buffet made 700 million in one day working with a major bank. The average Joe on the street never had a chance to get in on the deal. The bail out money was to help companies from failing. A major company said they would pay there employees first and then help the share holders. The big guy on Wall Street got a 110 million dollar bonus and quit three days later. The company eventually went under leaving nothing for the share holders. A major bank went public a while back. The shares started at $40 per share. The big guys on Wall street bought every share to start. The guys protesting could buy the stock the next day for $56 a share. The guys on Wall street already made there money the day before. How can you win when you can't even get in the game? If America is going to get going it should all for one and one for all and not all for me. Just my two cents.

I think you might have missed the message on this one, Kevin... Grant is trying to inspire others to be the best person they can be by taking action.  That begins by helping people to accept responsibility for who and where they are now; and also recognizing the opportunities at hand.

Who do you think holds you back from achieving what you desire: Yourself, or Somebody else?  Grant's teaching and leadership style has always been "Let's go do it." - because people learn best by doing.  A person's developed habits and philosophy have put them where they are today – So why wouldn't that stay true in the future?  Most people who are discontent and unhappy have a long blame list... and their own name is usually not on it.

I'm not trying to start a debate here Kevin, I just don't want others - or you - to lose the important lesson at hand.  I think the community of leaders here are taking the time to share a portion of who they are, in hopes that it will help somebody else. I appreciate them, and I think it is important that we have a culture of contribution; and an understanding that there is sometimes more than one right way to do and/or look at things.

Perhaps you will find the following words inspiring, I learned them from a person who committed a big portion of his life helping and inviting others to become the best person that they could be; and his name is Jim Rohn - I think there are people reading this message, and also sitting at these "occupy" events that could really benefit from taking the time to read or listen to some of his materials:

"If you want to earn more, you must first become more."

"Don't just let your business or your job make something for you; let it make something of you."

"Where you start the marketplace is not where you have to stay."

"We get paid for bringing value to the marketplace. It takes time to bring value to the marketplace, but we get paid for the value, not for the time."

"Here is the major problem with going on strike for more money: you cannot get rich by demand."

" You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight."

Best wishes,

Tobias

True... As Jim Rohn would say, "You cannot get rich by demand." Taking personal responsibility for your actions, growing in wisdom, and implementing a plan for your own development are the keys to success.  Think about it: this is America – the land of free enterprise; do what you enjoy, and figure out a way to make a living doing it... It's allowed!

I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE A 1%ER. I will do everything in my power to change my life and the lives of my family and make a difference to those around me. I am a leader not a follower of those who don't lead. You just confirmed what I breathe, Grant. No one is stopping me from Massive Action Planning, Selling, Motivating and Speaking. I will make more of a difference for me by my actions rather than my inactivity (living in a tent in a park holding a sign.) Those have no hope while I have hope faith and drive! Thanks, my friend.. see you out there!
