Steve you hit the nail on the head. "Success is a habit", it's not something you hope for or wish for. It starts at the top. My management style has always been "Fair, Firm and Consistent". There are no short cuts only hard work. But hard work can also be fun. This young boy learned these closes because it was fun. To me there is nothing as exciting as being a winner and performing at a high level. I agree salespeople perform up to their managers expectations. However it still seems odd to have to make someone do what they know they must do to be successful. I never needed that type motivation.

Where does this kid reside and how fast can he get on a plane and get to New England?  I'd like him to visit a few stores and train salespeople.  I agree with you Steve!  People perform to the level management expects them to.  Funny thing about this video is that it's repetition that made it all work.

Cool, but not surprising. People perform to the level that their management team expects them to. Most managers "hope" their sales people sell cars, create gross, and satisfy the customer. "Hope" is not a particularly good strategy. Few managers "expect" their sales people to make the memorization effort necessary to perform like the stud in the video. Do you think maybe the little man's "manager" holds him to a higher standard than most managers hold their sales people? I hear daily from managers how their sales team "can't" do this or that. And as long as those people manage, the sales people won't. Thanks for the video, it screams the truth.

@Henry That is so funny, but 100% true. A salesperson's job is to close why not learn the closes? @Jmac Man if I could do that at 4...I'd be you!

It's funny that a sales associate can remember where they parked their car, when it's lunch time the phone number of the pizza joint, the stat's of their favorite sports team and whatever else we all remember but they can't remember five good closes and say them at a moments notice....oh well, let me go to the desk and find out if I'm wearing underwear!!! Never mind the fact that everybody is an accountant on payday and they remember their gross and unit count to the penny! Disclaimer for all you 20%er's out there! For any of my sales crew reading this, bet your glad that we invest in training you and you have the "skills' necessary to earn a great living while satisfying your customers.
