Did you know there are multiple social network platforms available to create your own social network for your dealership? Try the one dealerELITE is on: www.ning.com. Check out www.anciracommunity.com (created by the ADP team with Ralph Paglia) and www.kellycarcommunity.com (created by Mike Myers and maintained by the ADP team with Ralph Paglia) for dealership examples. You can contact Mike or Ralph if you have questions how to get started.

Social media is not a venue for aggressive advertising. If you walked into a party and started peddling your inventory you'd be ignored at best. Social media is about building relationships. The sales will follow naturally.

So true Armando. I saw a wonderful quote which is appropriate here,
"If you talk to people the way Advertising talks to people, they would punch you in the face!"
The less you pitch the more you sell. Humanize your dealership by giving your people a voice, the more clear their voice, the more relationships they build, the more relationships they build, the more market share you will acquire.
Social Media is just a bunch of BS. At least, according to a recent blog post on HubSpot - http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/7026/Why-Social-Media-i...
Lol, love it. Sounds like a post I wrote a few weeks back.

Thank you for the comment and the twitter love, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to put some perspective on what social media really is, with all the hype a lot of dealers ARE dismissing it as a fad and that really is sad because it can make a difference.

The only agenda that you should address is your customer's as their online friend. Any self serving agenda will be transparent -- not in a good way -- and it will brand you as the fast talking car salesperson who they went online to avoid. If/when they are ready to purchase a car they will reach out to you since everyone loves having a friend in the car business and it might as well be you. After all, what are friends for!
