All the answers are great, but the truly successful salesperson has a combination of everything. Without the proper attitude going in, nothing will get accomplished. To have a mentor train and guide you is priceless. Being Committed to doing the little things each and everyday, day in and out... Setting goals, outcomes, if you will and then following them to a successful conclusion... Having the support of your friends and family, knowing that this is a business of failure, with very few succeeding in terms of the percentages. Developing your own business within a business, what could be better. The problem may be that people look at car sales as something to do, if they don't succeed at doing what they think they like to do, RATHER than looking at it being THE THING THEY WOULD LIKE TO DO... Any successful car salesperson, needs a true friend with a positive attitude to support them...
To be honest and sincere and to treat everyone you come in contact with as the most important person on earth.
It certainly isn't easy Craig, or we'd have zero turnover with the most successful people on earth selling cars. Doesn't AutoMax continue to commit to turning over recruits "with no bad habits" to a dealership? Where do the bad habits come from and how can we eliminate them? ASC is about developing synergized positive habit example teams that strengthens and matures positive habits in all. This is a work in progress. And you know better than most, my friend, my passion for synergy in our business! So, my updated answer to your question is: "a synergized team of equally committed professionals supporting each others positive habit examples."
Commitment is another word for good old fashion "HEART and DESIRE". We train every class you have to believe to achieve. They all agree but few have the heart, stomach or financial savings to get their business up and going. This is their business and needs to be run as such.
