When you make outbound calls do you:

A) Sit in your chair while making the call?

B) Stand up and walk around your office?

 

And lastly, do you smile while engaging in conversation over the phone?

As a BDC manager when I get on the phone with a customer my BDC staff usually becomes highly amused. More often than not I will be found pacing back and forth in front of my desk and moving my arms as I'm talking, as if the person were there in front of me. Of course I'm smiling too.

Good rule of thumb, if you aren't smiling don't even bother picking up the phone.

I absolutely love your comment Curtis. You are obviously a leader by example. You are correct in doing what you do and how you do it. When on the phone if you are pacing and looking out the window you are listening more intently which helps you know what to ask next or what to state next with more authority and confidence. I am glad to hear that peope like you are out there and thank you so much for sharing.
