I wanted to share some feedback I received from our Chicago Pitstop.
One of the dealers said to me that not only was the education some of the best he received, but the fact that he could bring multiple people from his dealership for less that the price of going to a larger conference was priceless.

How do you desk your deals? Maybe you don’t even desk deals. Either way, it is inevitable that you get to a point in the sale, where you have to talk about the deal and the make-up of the deal. If your process is set up where you send a salesperson back and forth, two and three times, ask yourself why? Does it make you feel good after the third time, you come out from behind the desk, go in the deal, talk…

If you’re anything like me, you know the wonderfulness that comes with a weekend. Now, of course some dealerships are open on Sundays, but in some states (Hi, New Jersey!) it is illegal for car dealers to be open. Or, at least the car lot. Thankfully, there isn’t a restriction on websites being open, yet. It’s…

What's the automotive retail industry's greatest challenge? According to several top selling dealers I've talked with recently, the answer is the negative perception the public has about car dealers.

Imagine that you run a restaurant.
Out in the dining room it’s nothing but surprises: you open each day with no idea how many people are going to come through the doors, what they are going to order, whether you have too much or too little staff or food on hand, etc. etc. etc. Anything goes, and that’s what makes it fun.
But back in the kitchen there must be order and process: if the kitchen is not systematically organized and operated the dishes will not make…

Several times in my life I've had defining moments. These are times when you're shaken to your core, wondering about your future and questioning the importance of what you are doing. During these times it pays to review who you are and what do you hold dear. You might question many things in times like these however today let hope to prevail. Personally I found the greatest growth is in the times of deepest challenges. We can not choose what happens to us in life only our responses.…

What do you do when you have a customer in the showroom, you’ve done the presentation and the test drive and got some degree of commitment from them, then they turn around and tell you that they “just need to go and see the Audi first, to put it out of my mind”?
It’s a tricky one – because…

I want to talk about honesty among those of us in the profession. Before you get all hot and bothered, I'm not referring to how you do your business. As a sales trainer, my concern and goal is to leave every client,…
